Frequently Asked Questions

It’s only natural to have questions, so to help I have put together some ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ for you.

  • Based on the Dorset / Hampshire border Mae & Maple covers Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset. Don’t worry though if you live further afield it doesn’t mean you can’t hire props from me, you would just need to organise your own collection and delivery.

  • Absolutely! I understand it is really hard to piece everything together when planning and styling your wedding or event, so you will have a lot of decisions to make and things will change along the way. To give you more time, I am more than happy to ‘Save your Date’, so you can decide what you would like to hire as your plans become clearer. All you need to do is get in touch, let me know your wedding or event date, the location and pay a £50 ‘Save my Date’ deposit. By paying the £50 that means your wedding or event date is booked into my hire diary and you can confirm what you would like to hire as soon as you have made up your mind. All I ask is that it is no later than 12 weeks before your hire date.

The £50 ‘Save my Date’ deposit will be deducted from your hire deposit once you have decided what you would like to hire, but, if you change your mind completely it is non-refundable.

  • Of course I will. My aim is to make your wedding or event as stress free as possible, so if I can help by delivering and collecting your props then just let me know.

  • Yes there will but it is important to me to keep your costs down so I purposely do not profit from them. Your delivery and collection fees will be calculated using the location of your venue, so all you need to do is tell me the name and postcode of your venue so I can calculate a quote for you. The delivery and collection fees will cover my fuel, my time on the road and my time unloading and loading back up.

  • Of course you can and this is actually something I encourage to save you on any additional costs. If you choose to collect your hired props all you need to do is ensure your vehicle is big enough. All the measurements for each item are listed in their description, so be sure to check them out before agreeing to collect and drop back your hired props.

  • The only props that can’t be collected is my wooden ceremony arch with it’s additional leg and backdrops, as well as my DIY Fun Foto Frame. This is due to their size and weight and the fact I will need to set them up for you. Once they are in situ they cannot be moved unless you would like me to stay and move them to a new location for a different part of your day. If you would like to hire either of these larger props and require them to be moved, then do get in touch so I can calculate your delivery and collection fees, as well as a small additional fee to stay and relocate them, if needed.

  • If you would like your hired props delivered and collected then there is a minimum hire fee of £250.00.

  • Yes of course you can, it just means you will have to organise collection and delivery from Barton on Sea in Hampshire. Collecting your props and decor yourself means you can have as much or as little as you like.

  • Sadly, I cannot refund monies paid for hired props you are unable to use due to bad weather. As we all know the UK weather is out of anyone’s control so I always recommend having a contingency plan in place so you can maximise the props you have hired, come rain or shine.

  • Yes, I would be absolutely delighted to help you. Having worked at many venues that only allow access on the morning of a special event, I understand the pressures this can cause. For that reason if you need me to help set up, I am more than happy to step in and do it for you. All I need to know is the name and postcode of your venue, the time you are allowed access and the time you need everything done by. With this information I can calculate a quote based on the location and whether or not I need team members to help so we can ensure it is ready on time for you.

  • A typical hire period is for three days. Your props will be collected or delivered the day before your event and returned or collected the following day after your event. If you are holding an extended wedding or event and would like your hired props for longer, no problem, just let me know so we can discuss your requirements.

  • All you need to do is get in touch by email or through my contact form and let me know what props and decor you are interested in and the date and location of your wedding or event. With this information I will write up your agreement and invoice for 40% of your total hire cost which will need to be transferred into the bank details provided. Once your agreement has been signed and your deposit has been received safely then your date and props are securely booked in…it’s that easy!

  • Your final balance will be due 4 weeks before your wedding or event which will include a £100 damages deposit.

  • Your damages deposit covers for any damage to your props or props that might go missing. On return of your hired props everything will be thoroughly checked over. If everything is returned as it was hired to you then your damages deposit will be returned in full within 7 days. If anything is found to be broken, damaged or lost then a repair or replacement fee will be deducted from your damages deposit and the remaining balance returned. If the repair or replacement fees exceed the £100 damages deposit then an invoice will be sent to cover the cost of repairing or replacing your damaged props. On booking, your agreement will include the repair and replacement fees for each item, so there are no hidden surprises.

  • Absolutely not!

Mae and Maple’s props are here for everyone to hire whether you have booked me to co-ordinate your wedding or event, or not.

  • Great news, the answer is a big fat YES!

If you have booked my co-ordination services you will receive 10% off all your hired props. Oh, and not only that, if we can organise your venue visit the day before your big day you won’t be charged for the delivery costs, only the collection…what’s not to love about that?

  • I know that when planning a wedding or event, your ideas and plans change along the way. For that reason I want to help you by being as flexible as possible. If you change your mind on some of the props you originally hired on your agreement, then you are more than welcome to remove props as long as it is no more than 25% of your order and no later than 12 weeks before your event date. If you want to add things on, then go for it! You can add as much as you like as long as it is still available on your date?

  • Yes I do and I wouldn’t be without it. Mae & Maple has public liability insurance to the sum of £5 million.

Hopefully that answers all the questions you might have, but if not don’t hesitate to get in touch!
