Hi, I’m Tash, the face behind Mae & Maple!
Some of you may already know me through Tasha Mae Wedding Co-ordination, where I help couples enjoy a stress free wedding day by taking care of all those little jobs, keeping everything organised and making sure the day runs smoothly.
Through co-ordinating weddings, I started to notice something that kept cropping up. Couples would spend months carefully planning their wedding décor, collecting beautiful props and creating all those personal touches that make their day unique. But when it came to the wedding morning, someone still had to put it all out!
Quite often, that job would fall to family and friends, who would be busy setting tables, arranging decorations and making sure everything was ready before the guests arrived.
And that’s when my light bulb moment happened…
Not every couple needs a wedding co-ordinator, and I know that a full co-ordination service isn’t right for everyone’s plans or budget. But that doesn’t mean you should have to do everything yourself!
I realised I could offer a helping hand to couples who had their wedding plans and décor all sorted but needed someone they could trust to bring everything together on the day. And so, my DIY Décor Set Up service was born!
It’s all about taking away that last minute pressure, so you can enjoy getting ready, spend time with your favourite people and look forward to seeing your plans come to life, without worrying about who’s putting everything out.
But there’s a little more to Mae & Maple than that…
My love of weddings, styling and all things a little bit different inspired me to create a collection of unique props and décor items, too. I wanted to help couples create a beautiful atmosphere for their wedding or event, with those special finishing touches that make it feel truly personal.
I’m a big believer in sustainability, and I love finding ways to give old things a new lease of life. I’m also a bit of a hands on girl and I’m never afraid to roll up my sleeves, pick up a sander or even a saw, and have a go at making something beautiful myself!
Many of my little treasures have been rescued, recycled or upcycled from Aladdin’s caves I’ve stumbled across along the way, from brocantes and vintage fairs to charity shops and antique shops. I love seeing the potential in something that others might overlook and imagining what it could become with a little creativity and a bit of TLC, and if I can make something beautiful using leftover materials, even better! I love getting crafty, experimenting with ideas and creating unique pieces that have their own story to tell.
For me, Mae & Maple is all about being creative, embracing the imperfect and finding beauty in the unexpected. I love the thought that something old, forgotten or handmade can become a special part of someone’s wedding day.
